Aparté
by Maxime Vachon
Aparté is a small company near La Rochelle created in 2022, with the objective of modernizing the puzzle image and offering an artistic and responsible alternative. After 11 years in the insurance sector, Maxime Vachon decided to leave everything behind to embark on this adventure, realizing that the puzzle, like many manual activities, had made a comeback in our homes during the various COVID-19 lockdowns. He enjoyed the activity a lot but noticed that the visuals were not very to his liking, and that the price of the puzzles was often high due to their manufacturing process. He therefore decided to ask a few illustrators whose work he admires in order to find out if creating a visual for a puzzle could interest them, and at the same time approached a French manufacturer to learn more about the manufacture of a puzzle. The project seduced and in just a few months, Aparté was born. The puzzles are made in Romans sur Isère and are sold online or from distributors.

Products

Puzzling is a family activity. I remember spending hours assembling pieces on the carpet in my bedroom as a child, seeing my mother also make pieces on boards of all sizes to make it easier to move them around different rooms and the frustration of not having enough light at certain times of the day to light the precious sesames. I rediscovered the joy of puzzles more recently while on vacation with my children. It is an ideal activity to rest your brain, spend time together and experience the satisfaction of hard work done. So, even if it means buying puzzles that are actually rarely original in terms of visuals, you might as well turn to a French house, which loves its job, and surrounds itself with artists and artisans to offer a 100% eco-responsible, beautiful and useful product.
