Officine universelle Buly

by Victoire de Taillac and Ramdane Touhami

Installed on Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris in 1803, Jean-Vincent Bully (with two “ls”) was one of the first perfumers to open up to the progress of science and cosmetics in order to formulate his inventions. “Bully Vinegar”, a patented aromatic lotion for cleaning and maintaining the complexion, won a great reputation throughout Europe and gave the pharmacy an unprecedented reputation for more than a century. Remaining dormant in the 20th century, the pharmacy regained its reputation under the impetus of Victoire de Taillac and Ramdane Touhami under the name Officine Universelle Buly (with a single “l”). In an old-fashioned pharmacy setting where even the sellers seem to have come straight out of another era, you will find creams, floral lotions, powders, clays, vegetable oils, vegetable oils, perfumes and accessories dedicated to the delicate art of cosmetics on the shelves. Particular care is taken in the choice of natural ingredients known for their virtues. If your steps take you to their Parisian shops, you will not fail to fall in love with this wonderful store that smells of cosmetics all the more.

Inspirations

All the magic of this pharmacy, whose products are designed in Paris and formulated in France, is to have been able to combine contemporary cosmetics and ancient recipes, while remaining faithful to the spirit of what made this house famous. Functional beauty that never forgets the aesthetic part of a product or a bottle.

Values

Promote personal, intimate and tailor-made beauty, for which everyone builds their own ritual and initiates their own actions. A beauty that invites you to take time for yourself, to discover each formula, each texture, each raw material or each tool in order to better appropriate it.

Products

Here, creams are made of virgin ointment or concrete ointment, lotions become superfine or rectified water, shaving creams have the sweet name of pogonotomian cream, perfumes are triple waters, the first fragrances of skin in water, toothpastes are dental opiates, and body oils, ancient oils.

Tested and loved it

Buly is luxury at your fingertips, the gift to give yourself or to give at least once, if only for the olfactory and visual experience of the place. Supreme refinement, your first name can be added in calligraphy to the boxes, which makes the object unique and exceptional. Everything is lovely, chic, and deliciously old-fashioned, and having tested a few of them, their products are also very pleasant to use and of high quality. A hymn to the French art of living that I personally never cease to marvel at and that enchants everyday life even in its smallest things.
